The Main Gallery presents the work of a founding Gallery artist, Katinka Hartmetz, who uses a variety of media in her solo exhibition "4th Generation Artist." The exhibition extends from September 12 through October 21. A reception, open to the public, will be held Saturday night, September 15, 6pm to 9pm.

"I was taught and inspired to become an artist by my mother, my grandmother and my great-grandmother. I am an artist in a family of artists. My art is a visual museum of my family’s art history. I use pieces and concepts that were passed down through generations to me. Like my mother, I use torn burlap and paper as collage elements in my acrylic paintings. Like my mother and grandmother, I use dark outlining and dramatic shading. Simply put, having this family legacy and surrounding myself at home with our art cocoons me in their talent," Hartmetz says in summary.
